Milan is a city full of hidden treasures often overlooked even by the Milanese themselves.
Consider the condemned Church of San Paolo Converso, in piazza Sant’Eufemia, Milan. Built in 1546-1580 for the convent of the Order of the Angeliche, today it is a private estate where sometimes you can enjoy unique events hosted by significant people. The jeweler David Yurman is one of them.
During Milan Men Fashion Week 2017, Evan Yurman, Chief Design Director of David Yurman, introduced David Yurman Jewelry for the first time in Europe.
He combined the picturesque location and the artworks of sculptor, painter and performer Anthony James for the presentation of the new Fall Winter 2017-18 collection. Not a strange decision at all if you think at the history of the brand.
«Sculptor David Yurman and his wife, Sybil, a painter, launched the brand in 1980. They collaborated to create jewelry that was both a fashion statement and a work of art», Yurman’s team explains.
Fourteen container-showcases, transparent and faceted as dodecahedron, disclose this story of art, creativity and craftsmanship.
These fourteen installations can be observed by many perspectives, reflecting the artistic gesture of David Yurman and his interpretation of the Universe.
On show in the of Church of St. Paul Converso until February 2017 (www.davidyurman.com).
