Are you ready for a moon trip? Fifty years later from the very first human landing to the moon, during Milano Design Week Marni decided to pay a personal homage to the space.

“Marni Moon Walk” – the environment set up in Viale Umbria 42 – is not a simply exhibition space but a truly immersive experience inside Marni Universe, a blend of futuristic fantasy and ancient references.

Guided by blue neon lights, visitors walk down a path among several block-colored pieces of furniture and unusual design objects, both handmade by Colombian artisans.

Marni’s moon seems to be a very relaxing world: several and several chaise lounges, sofas, armchairs and rocking chairs made in PVC and metal, in addition to wool-natural fibre pillows and carpets, populate it. Little alien lamps stand near seemed-like spaceship coffee tables, realized in colored formica-covered wood and metal, while traces of human presence is represented by sculptures that reproduce squared spacemen.

As if we were travelled by a time machine, suddenly we are thrown in a primitive yard, where benches and stools, that seems tribal totems, cohabits with colorful animal-shaped sculpture-stools, hand painted and made in metal foil.

The entire project, realized for the International Salone del Mobile, will support the “OTB” Foundation for childhood: part of the collection’s items, in fact, will finance “Future Brain” project, promoted by “Associazione Heal” Onlus to support hospitalized children in the paedriatric neuro-oncology ward of “Bambin Gesù” Paediatric Hospital in Rome.

Finally, for the first time, a selection from the collection will be sold, from the next week, online and in-store at “Luisa Via Roma”.
