Brunello Cucinelli delves into AI with a new online project
On July 16th, the new Brunello Cucinelli website, which merges artificial intelligence with a harmonious blend of humanistic and technological insights, was unveiled during a press conference at the Piccolo Theatre in Milan. The groundbreaking project, based on the Solomei AI platform, represents a fusion of human creativity and the vast potential offered by artificial intelligence. This innovative website was introduced by the Umbrian designer Brunello Cucinelli, along with his close friend, architect Massimo de Vico Fallani, and Francesco Bottigliero, Chief of Humanistic Technology at the Solomeo fashion house.
In the presence of a distinguished audience of journalists from Italy and around the world, as well as various entrepreneurial friends, Brunello Cucinelli emphasized the core intent of the project: to engage with technology that enhances the finest qualities of artificial intelligence alongside those of the human mind. The concept was to use AI to revolutionize the design and functionality of websites. The new site abandons traditional page and menu structures in favor of allowing content to flow and interconnect freely before the visitor. This vision gave rise to the Solomei AI platform, designed to enable this new generation of web experiences.
BrunelloCucinelli.AI aims to represent an expression of Human Artificial Intelligence, harmoniously linking the promising future with a cherished past. The event’s title highlighted this successful blend of human elements and technological knowledge: “Human and Artificial Intelligence Unite, and from their union, our new website is born.”
Brunello Cucinelli commented, “For nearly three years, a dedicated team of researchers from mathematics, engineering, art, and philosophy have been working on this project. As early as May 2019, we laid the foundation for a shared reflection with leading global AI experts through the ‘First Symposium on the Soul and the Economy of Solomeo.’ Last May, we held the second edition of the Symposium, which was crowned with an Honorary Doctorate in Human Sciences awarded by our esteemed University of Perugia to my dear friend Reid Hoffman, an AI genius. The guiding thread of our work on Human Artificial Intelligence has been and will continue to be the pursuit of a serene and hopeful attitude toward technology, which I am confident will benefit all of humanity. Our website moves beyond the constraints of pages and places the individual at the center, allowing them to explore content freely. The innovative Solomei AI platform, which aims to visually and immediately represent what is being sought, is the beautiful fruit of a tree rooted in ancient wisdom. As my teacher Xenophanes reminded us: ‘Certainly, from the beginning, not all was revealed to mortals by the gods, but over time those who seek find what is best.’ I hope that our young people, in their time, will confidently seek what is best.”
