Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna, the leading international hub for the latest trend in the beauty industry, is celebrating its 50th anniversary, from March 16th to 20th, 2017: an important anniversary for a trade fair which is recognized worldwide as the not-to-be-missed event for companies, professionals and distributors of the beauty sector.
The 360 degrees exploration of the world perfumery trends, which has always been one of the leading topics at the Bologna show, celebrates this historical anniversary paying tribute to the Art of Perfume. This will be carried out through The Perfume Factory, an installation presented by Cosmoprof together with Accademia del Profumo and with the collaboration of some industry leading companies. A complete fragrance supply chain will be recreated, through a path which will take visitors to discover, step after step, the entire production process of a fragrance. From olfactory to maceration, from filling to packaging it will be possible to follow every phase. A limited edition fragrance, designed by Luca Maffei of Luca Maffei  of Atelier Fragranze Milano*, will celebrate this extraordinary edition of Cosmoprof, snd is already destined to be a collectible must-have, produced and packaged on site during the exhibition, it is a gender-free citrousy, floral, woody cologne, which, through the use of some emblematic raw materials of the Italian tradition, enhances both the historical roots and the technological innovation of the essence houses contributing to the project,

*Luca Maffei is a young Italian independent perfumer, working for his own company. He is a natural born perfumer, who has grown up in the family business, fascinated since his early years by the charm of raw materials and the mysterious alchemy by which they combine. He has already signed more than 50 creations, for both mainstream and niche brands. 2016 has been a year full of primary international acknowledgements: for the second year in a row Maffei has been awarded with “The Art and Olfaction Award.”

Over its long history Cosmoprof has been playing the role of mediator between beauty companies and new markets, thanks to its international profile and its reliability. On its 50th anniversary edition, Cosmoprof presents a brand new project: Cosmoprime, a special area which will be open from March 16th to 19th, 2017, together with Cosmopack – the international trade fair dedicated to the beauty supply chain. Cosmoprime
is a new exhibition area dedicated to retail companies from the high-end mass market to prestige and niche perfumery, chosen through a careful scouting activity searching for new products that follow the new trends. Visitors will have the chance to enjoy the Extraordinary Gallery, Cosmoprof exclusive area where all trends of the beauty universe are on show, with the most innovative companies and brands.
As one of the main initiatives, the first edition of Tones of Beauty, a multicultural beauty showcase, will take to Italy for the first time ever the brands of “Black & Brown” beauty products, involving all the sectors of the industry and continuing a project which began two years ago at Cosmoprof North America.

Another special area, for the first time at Cosmoprime, is BeOrganic, completely dedicated to companies producing organic beauty products. Cosmoprime will host also the only International Buyer Lounge of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna 2017, becoming a space with a strong “B2B mood”. The International Buyer Lounge will welcome top buyers from all over the world, selected as part of the International Buyer Program, involving exhibitors in specific meetings with highly specialized professional distributors and brands of the key markets for the cosmetic industry.
Not-to-be-missed the workshops and round tables with a focus on present and future of the beauty world. CosmoTalks will offer to professionals a profitable opportunity for highly qualified updates on the retail distribution and the market in general.
Numbers. The 2016 edition of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna has been characterized by record numbers: 200,000 visitors, 2,510 exhibitors (73% coming from abroad), 25 Country Pavilions.
Cosmoprof is exhibiting in Bologna, in Las Vegas with Cosmoprof North America and in Hong Kong with Cosmoprof Asia. It involves a total of 6,400 exhibitors and more than 350,000 visitors from more than 150 countries in the world.
