The 2020 cold season will be sustainable, changeable, and classic. As Silvia Venturini Fendi argues, it’s time to teach young people that fashion means investing something for the future and they can’t keep buying hundreds of garments they’ll throw away without even wear them a second time.
On this note, Fendi’s Fall Winter collection lays claim the durability of classic, aesthetically and sartorially. Reducing, removing, and expanding the functionalities are the main goals of these straight, pure silhouettes, where zip plays allow them to transform completely: from coats to short jackets, from long sleeved shirts to a crop tops, from pants to skirts – YES, this fashion season definitely legitimized kilts and skirts in the male wardrobe!
Everything is double, as prerogative of the very double FF logo, while the signature brand’s yellow color acts secretly throughout wide special parkas. The maison in fact collaborated with Anrealage, Japanese brand acclaimed for its technologic knowledge, that created a photochromic nylon making jackets change colors as hit by the sunlight.
Other protagonist element of this magic-functional collection is undoubtedly the accessory. Bags – again YES, bags are now approved as totally maleish – are declined in all shapes and sizes: from huge shoppers, to boxes and shoulder bags. The Peekaboo is knitted or Essential in its mini size and in a new travel version recalling 18th century trunks. Then footwear sticks out amongst the looks with giant boots, heavy sneakers and performant running shoes, completing the outfit with sheepskin bucket hats.
Many international celebrities joined the event; here we see lined up in front row Cody Simpson, the power couple Barbara Palvin and Dylan Spouse, and Oscar Wang.
