GIORGIO ARMANI CELEBRATES HIS FIRST HIGH JEWELRY COLLECTION AND PRE FALL 20/21 FASHION SHOW WITH AN EXHIBITION IN MILAN DEDICATED TO HIS ACCESSORIES UNIVERSE

Last weekend a great party was set in Milan to celebrate the Armani Kingdom. A whole day was dedicated to Re Giorgio and his visionary creativity throughout three different events: the presentation of the Pre Fall 20/21 Collection (“Trasformismo”), the launch of the first ever Armani High Jewelry Collection and the inauguration of “Accents of Style” exhibition at Armani/Silos, the first one completely devoted to Armani accessories universe.

Three different worlds of fashion galaxy – the prêt-à-porter, the accessories and the Haute Joiellerie – joined together letting people know how powerful is Armani vision and how much it has changed the overused concept of style.

“I think my job is thrilling because it lets me live again and again several “first times” as today” Giorgio Armani commented.

Launching his own maison in the late 70s, Giorgio Armani started to share a new kind of femininity and sexiness, characterized by distinctive references to the masculine world, but always softened by elegant line and pure shape free from redundant frills. Teaching us that even greys and beiges are refined cool colors, collection after collection – until the last “Trasformismo” contaminated by Eastern and late 30s echoes – he demonstrated how fashion can perfectly match with art and design.

Contrary to many others, he approached accessories design moving from clothing at the end of 80s and so exporting his prêt-à-porter language to leather goods. “Accents of Style” exhibition wants to narrate the fascinating tale of the these accessories whose creation, as that of garments, requires measure, balance and courage.

ACCENTS OF STYLE

“I liked the idea to offer the possibility to fully live my world between art and design”.

Curated by Giorgio Armani himself, the exhibition is a real retrospective that retraces designer’s favorite themes (Ethnic and Animal Prints, Metropolis and Neoclassical, Two-Tone and Colour Block, Night-Time and Shimmers of Light) not only throughout the display of women’s bags, footwear and jewelry, but also showing some of the most impressive fashion editorials and campaigns. From the Plissé bag to the oversized clutches, the ballet flats, the sling-backs, the brooches of the insects shapes to the necklaces with fabrics details, the entire Armani accessories history is shown in a continuum that blends the logical and the fantastic according to the Italian designer’s concept of freedom.

Finally closing the loop of the prêt-à-porter line in fact, Giorgio Armani High Jewelry Collection – now available on Giorgio Armani boutiques of the most important cities in the world – sapiently completes the luxury lifestyle plan of the Italian maison. Inspired by the beloved concepts of charm and pureness, the collection is declined into three different themes strictly linked to the very maison’s history and codes. If Giorgio Armani logo is the core of “Borgonuovo” line, “Sì” series indeed turns the namesake iconic feminine fragrances into colliers, earrings, rings and bracelets of multi petals shape made of black onyx and diamonds. Finally “Firmamento” reinterprets the recurring theme of the starry sky with precious pavé and brilliant cut diamonds.
