GUCCI LaUNCHES MeN’S TAILoRING PRe-FALL 2019 CoLLECTIOn CAMPAIgN STARrING BY HARrY STYLeS

After seen Gucci’s creative director Alessandro Michele and Harry Styles walked down Met Gala pink carpet side by side, the liason between the Italian brand and the Britain singer continues.
Now Harry Styles acts as the curious main character in the new Men’s Tailoring Pre-Fall 2019 Collection Campaign by Harmony Korine, who has previously collaborated with the maison for Man and Woman Pre-Fall Collections’ lookbooks.
As required by Gucci codes, a dreamlike atmosphere pervades the pictures: among antiques, ancient Roman statues and busts, a very elegant Ephebe, followed by his extravagant puppies, wanders through abandon spaces in the middle of nowhere. With the dandy allure of all the self-respecting Dorian Greys, halfway from a poèt maudit and a Caravaggio’s Bacchus, he declaims his poems and picks up a buche of grape showing off tailoring suits of bright shades of blue, violet and pink.
Perhaps the campaign with such a romantic decadent allure is a prelude of what we are going to see next May 28th when the Cruise 2020 Collection’s fashion show will go on stage at Musei Capitolini in Rome. After taking over Westminster Abbey in London, Palazzo Pitti’s Galleria Palatina in Florence and the Promenade des Alyscampes in Arles, Alessandro Michele comes back to his hometown deciding to take care about its wonders. During the next two years, in fact, Gucci will contribute to the restoration of the Rupe Tarpea, the stone wall sited on the southern side of Campidoglio, a unique natural place from which, according to the tradition, traitors to the Country sentenced to death were thrown to the underlying Foro Romano.
Waiting for what promises to be a spectacular event, we can only enjoy all the Gucci Tailoring Campaign’s images shared on the medias and that are also part of a limited edition book that will be published on late May. With the promise to try to get into and make it our the ancient and mystical spirit of Gucci, Dry is ready for the Roman conquest… See you soon Alessandro!
