With an enthusiastic opening last Friday, January 25, the higher floor of the Mayfair’s store is now home of new exhibitions, conferences and events to inspire young talents from all over the UK and worldwide.

“Unlocking Stories”, the first announced project, will provide access to the working process, the team, and to the materials’ research for the brand’s Spring Summer 2019 collection.

This multilevel installation tells stories about tailoring, couture’s secrets, fabrics and embroidery, and above all about the relation between manual capacity and new technology. It will reveal a unique hub to explore the precious intuitions and ideas of Lee Alexander McQueen, now developed and carried out by the creative director Sarah Burton.

The opening’s invitations were extended to students from schools and colleges, with two lectures given by Burton in a conversation with the fashion curator Sarah Mower.
