Duran Lantink’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection was a captivating display of cultural fusion and avant-garde sensibility, blending traditional craftsmanship with futuristic experimentation.
One of the collection’s standout features was its exploration of textiles and fabric manipulation. Lantik employed intricate hand-woven techniques, evoking artisanal craftsmanship from regions such as Southeast Asia, while juxtaposing them with futuristic, synthetic materials. The contrast between organic textures—like silk and cotton—and high-tech fabrics created a dialogue between the past and the future, grounding the collection in a conversation about sustainability and the evolution of craft in the digital age.
The silhouettes ranged from oversized, flowing garments to more structured, tailored pieces, often within the same look. The fluidity of the draped designs conveyed a sense of freedom and movement, while the structured elements—think sharp blazers with sculptural shoulders—offered a counterpoint of rigidity and control.
