An Inclusive Encounter: Marco Rambaldi’s Vision of Fashion and Belonging
Words MATTIA MARCASSA BARBIERI
Marco Rambaldi’s fashion show takes place in an open-air setting, transforming the space into a stage that embodies the idea of a “square” as a symbol of encounter and belonging, open to all, “even vagabonds”. This concept of community is crucial to the designer’s vision, who uses fashion as a vehicle to explore different identities and create strong emotional bonds between the garments, their context, and the wearer. The choice of Piazza Tommaso di Lampedusa, with its historic architecture, amplifies messages of openness and discovery, encouraging the expression of inclusive values. An evocative pole, similar to that of a ship, stands at the center of the catwalk, symbolizing the journey and exploration of new possibilities. The models on the catwalk represent the richness of human diversity, reinforcing the brand’s message of inclusion. Among the participants, rapper Big Mama and Paralympian Veronica Plebani stand out, bringing with them strong messages of representativeness. Rambaldi’s mastery of knitting emerges in intricate intarsia, where sweaters and beach towels transform into skirts, evoking a nostalgic effect inspired by vintage provincial advertisements. The motto “Circolo Rambaldi”, present in various pieces, refers to an imaginary social club, reinforcing the idea of community and belonging. The collection goes beyond a mere expression of style: it is an ode to inclusivity, an embrace of diversity, and a reflection on beauty in all its forms. With “Tante belle cose”, Marco Rambaldi offers a vision of fashion that celebrates authentic connections and the simple pleasures of life, making his narrative both personal and universally relevant.
