In 2016 Aldo Manna created OceaNemo to develop, with the designer Fulvio De Simoni and the French shipyard Ocea, the SUY Sport Utility Yacht concept: large yachts with plenty of space for “toys” for owners and guests who like to spend a lot of time onboard. From the submarine to the seaplane with folding wings, the hovercraft to the small sailboat. The new frontier of yachting.
After having worked for 20 years with the French shipyard Ocea specialized in the construction of military patrol boats, the naval engineer Aldo Manna has created the SUY Sport Utility Yacht to respond to the needs of owners of megayachts who want to fill their boats with enticing gadgets. «Today a megayacht is a floating island,» Manna explains: «It is longer a way to get from A to B, but a base from which to set forth on new adventures and explorations that used to be impossible.» So in the adventure of his OceaNemos, created with the designer Filippo De Simoni, Manna has involved various companies that produce the latest gadgets. Not just helicopters, but also bathyscaphes, seaplanes with folding wings, electric jet-skis with which to visit marine nature reserves, little hovercraft that can travel on sea or land. In short, everything you need to live a life like Indiana Jones, from the Caribbean to the Antarctic, knowing that you can beat a quick retreat to your oh-so-elegant megayacht.
