Although MM6 Maison Margiela, youthful and affordable branch of the Paris based brand and Salomon, current powerhouse of gorpcore – have been collaborating for just under two years, the results have been remarkable. Their innovative designs and unique fabric treatments have quickly established a distinctive unisex wardrobe that seamlessly blends avant-garde fashion with performance-driven functionality.
Out today and divided into two categories—Gore-Tex and Seamless—this refined, minimalist capsule collection brings together timeless classics with the essential codes of each brand, blending MM6 Maison Margiela’s iconic aesthetic with Salomon’s advanced activewear technology.
For the Autumn-Winter 2024 season, the collection introduces a versatile urban wardrobe in the House’s signature nude tone, creating a canvas for bold black-and-white accents on oversized formal trousers and shirts. The silhouettes range from anatomical, stretch-fit pieces like seamless leggings and long-sleeved crew-neck tops, to relaxed, protective essentials such as a classic trench coat, straight-leg five-pocket pants, a zipped windbreaker, and oversized button-down shirts, all crafted from breathable, water-repellent Gore-Tex. This capsule is a study in subtle functionality, with each piece offering essential, radical simplicity for the contemporary wardrobe.
Among the standout pieces in footwear, the MM6 design studio presents a modern, urban reimagining of the iconic Salomon ACS PRO 2. The shoe arrives in two distinct styles: a sleek concrete gray with soft silver accents for a subtle industrial edge, and a rubberized matte black with a glossy tar-black overlay that evokes an exoskeletal structure, amplifying its dark, industrial appeal.
The CROSS LOW MM6 MAISON MARGIELA also makes a bold return, transforming Salomon’s Speedcross trail-running shoe with a fresh, low-profile design and a customized lug sole. Available in striking color combinations, this version features either a vibrant bubblegum pink paired with bright red or an earthy almond and army green with an acid yellow heel detail encased in dark forest green. Each design offers a unique blend of MM6’s avant-garde style and Salomon’s technical mastery, pushing the boundaries of trail-running footwear with an urban twist.
The collection’s standout drawstring gaiter-style ripstop nylon closure—attached to a high-tech molded composite sole with taped waterproof seams and a reflective strip on the green version—merges the feel of extreme sports outerwear with a nod to classic waterproof galoshes, creating an emblematic MM6 Maison Margiela design that bridges past and future.
Elsewhere, Salomon’s distinctive design language is reimagined in the MM6 version of the brand’s classic Trailblazer DAYPACK 20, available in black or natural mastic ripstop nylon. Enhanced with additional pockets, it offers new functionality for urban use, integrating both sleek and bold shapes ideal for carrying everyday essentials.
This all-gender capsule collection is designed for versatile mixing, matching, and layering, highlighting how activewear has shaped streetwear and fashion, blurring the lines between functional gear and elevated urban style.
The MM6 Maison Margiela x Salomon ready-to-wear capsule will be available starting November 7th on both brands’ e-commerce sites, boutiques, and selected multibrand stores.
