Although Alexander Mc Queen SS18 fashion show was held in Paris, the brand’s Creative Director Sarah Burton decided to homage the English countryside. Indeed Burton was influenced by two specific gardens: Kew Gardens and Dixter Gardens and she imagined the girls walking out of these, drenched by the rain. The first look was a classic gabardine trench coat, but reinvented, deconstructed and covered with flowers. Burton gave the same romantic treatment to riding jackets, heavy handmade knits and even a tuxedo. Ruffles and flowers were everywhere. The show was closed by a defilèe of beautiful ball gowns, re-stitched in a composite of corsetry and chiffon folds.
