HERMèS INAUGURATED ITS SILK MIX STORE IN MILAN

For the first time from 1986, according to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), this year vinyls sale will overtake the CDs one. So it’s not by chance that also fashion houses decide to look at this revival trend proposing initiative linked to the music world.
Silk Mix by maison Hermès is the perfect compromise between the desire of owing the ultimate yet timeless fashion item and the endless love for vintage objects. Born by the common passion for music shared by Véronique Nichanian, Artistic Director of Hermès Menswear, Christophe Goineau, Creative Director of Hermès Men’s Silk , and the music artistic director Thierry Planelle, Silk Mix is more than a simple music shop. All the vinyls and tapes perfectly ordered in comparts or hung on the walls, in fact, are actually menswear satin carrés and ties.
The unlimited choice sees different shapes and pieces (321 for the carrés and 125 for the ties) as well as numerous combinations of colors and patterns (72 for the carrés and 26 for the ties). The fun fact is that every single item is matched with a song or a soundtrack coming from the Hermès Man Collection fashion shows of the past 10 years.
