Chanel e Atelier Daruma at the 79th Venice Biennale Film Festival
If you’ve sat through as many campaign videos as we have, then you’re probably aware they can pivot to a tiresome business. Ditto: Often resembling dreary adverts, they don’t always succeed in elevating fashion films to the sophisticated (or at the very least compelling) practice it can be when done in the context of a festival. Fortunately, Chanel has got our back.
Chanel has officially announced the official selection of the Rencontre(S) experience for participation in the Venice Immersive competition, to be held in Venice from 31 August to 10 September 2022, as part of the 79th edition of the Venice International Film Festival. Rencontre(S) is an immersive, interactive and multi-sensory experience that invites you to experience the legendary encounter between Gabrielle Chanel and Perfumer Ernest Beaux at the moment of choosing the legendary N°5 perfume. Actress Marion Cotillard, whose talent is internationally recognised, lent her voice to play Gabrielle Chanel.
The Chanel Maison, in partnership with Atelier Daruma, imagined this innovative, exclusive and original installation that will have its international premiere at the Venice Film Festival. Founded by French director Mathias Chelebourg, Atelier Daruma is an award-winning innovation studio specialising in immersive storytelling and profound meaning.
