Francesco Vezzoli and Mimmo Jodice on show at Studio Trisorio, Capri

Francesco Vezzoli crosses the gaze of Mimmo Jodice by putting in dialogue his very personal interpretation of History with that of the Master of photography and with his iconic images of archaeological finds.

In particular, Vezzoli chose to confront Jodice’s photograph depicting the ‘Amazon d a Herculaneum because as he stated, ” It is the proof that the beauty of antiquity persists even when the archaeological find is wounded, mutilated or, in some way, compromised”. Vezzoli uses History as a repertoire of icons, models and narratives to critically reflect on the present and investigate re themes as diverse as power, fame, sexuality.

The gallery windows, on the other hand, host an installation of posters of some of the best-known films in the genre of p eplum m ovie s , made by Vezzoli, evoking the atmosphere of vintage movie theaters.
